GABLER BUSINESS AS BRISK
AS CAN BE.
The summer weather has had but little
appreciable effect on the business of E.
Gabler & Bro. of this city. Activity is
the order of the day in each department
and orders from all sections of the country
continue to multiply in size and frequency.
Of course the increasing prosperity of the
and without, the decorations being hand-
carved and the workmanship faultless. It
has the improved seven and one-third oc-
tave scale, the patent metallic action
frame (cast in one piece), and the patent
sliding fall board.
The Gabler new style M, Cabinet Grand,
is a beautiful instrument, elaborately deco-
rated, with hand-carved panels and panel-
sides. It embraces all of the Gabler
patented improvements and is a fit orna-
ment for any drawing or music room. The
Gabler new style B, Baby Grand, now
being made in mahogany and oak, is a
handsome instrument. Like all other
Gabler products, it is the outcome of well-
applied knowledge and experience on the
part of the firm's senior member, Emil
Lindeman Change in Rochester.
The Lindeman piano will hereafter be
represented in Rochester, N. Y., by the
enterprising house of J. W. Martin & Bro.
of which that popular member of the trade,
Geo. Clay Cox, is manager. During the
latter's visit to the city last week he made
a large selection of different styles at the
Lindeman Co. 's factory for immediate ship-
ment. The Lindeman, possessing so many
individual points of merit, particularly in
the region of acoustics and designing, can-
not fail to prove a strong selling factor
with its new representatives.
New England Co.'s Prosperity.
The New England Piano Co., of Boston,
Mass., through their president Thomas F.
Scanlan, announce that a semi-annual
dividend of three per cent, has been
declared on the preferred stock, payable
July 1st, 1899-, to stockholders of record on
June 28th, 1899. Checks will be mailed.

has helped immeasurably toward the pres-
ent agreeable situation of things. It will
help still further the augmentation of busi-
ness the coming fall which gives every
promise of being a record breaker with the
old-established and highly respected Gabler
institution.
The 1899 Gabler products have met with
generous approval, with good reason. The

Wessell, Nickel & Gross.
,
A clever sharper who last week imposed
successfully on a number of Passaic, N. J.,
merchants, by giving bad checks and re-
ceiving cash in change for goods bought,
tried to secure a piano by this means from
Ruckstuhl's establishment in that city a
few days ago, but his scheme was nipped
in the bud. This sharper has been operat-
ing not alone in Passaic but in contiguous
towns and gave his name at Ruckstuhl's as
I. G. Palmer. He is about 5 feet six inches
tall, wears glasses and carries a package,
as though he were a business man return-
ing from New York. He is a good talker,
and there is not the slightest trace of the
swindler that he is said to be.
Piano dealers should be on the lookout
for him.
