PRODUCTS OF THIS HOUSE IN GREAT
DEMAND AT HOME AND IN EUROPE.
This has been a record-breaking season
for the Menzenhauer-Schmidt guitar-zither,
and there is no let up in the general de-
mand, either in the United States or in
Germany.
"Several good catises have led to the
triumph of the Menzerihauer guitar-zither
in America and in Europe," said Mr. Men-
zenhauer to The Review recently. "They

It will be no surprise to readers of The
Review to learn that the business of C. G.
Conn is still developing. It is spreading
in every direction and in all departments.
The "Wonder" instruments are, without
exception, finding a ready market. The
M
Wonder " banjo, as shown in the illus-
tration, is making a phenomenal record
among professionals and expert amateurs.
The "Olympia" a Winner.
The progressive—and aggressive—policy
of F. G. Otto & Co., recently referred to
in The Review, is being fully justified by
results. People who read are quickly learn-
ing the lesson set for them in the great
periodicals and magazines.
The " Olympia " music box is now as
well and, in its own sphere, as favorably
known as is Admiral Dewey's famous war-
ship. The presence and occasional use of
an " Olympia " in a household, to carry the
simile still further, is as soothing to the
members of the household as is the pres-
ence and occasional use of the flagship at
Manila and vicinity.

shape, richness of tone, durability, and
lowness of price. With such a combina-
tion, we have nothing to fear from com-
petitors.
"It would be useless to talk about these
points unless we felt sure of our ground.
But that is where we are strongest. We
stand on solid rock in this matter, and,
without boasting, challenge comparisons.
Our guitar-zither is pre-eminent for its
simplicity of arrangement, convenience of
shape, richness and fulness of tone,
strength of construction—only the very
best material being used—and lowness of
price, placing it within the reach of even
the poorest in every land.
" We are prospering to-day and we shall
continue to prosper. Naturally, we have
keen competition to contend against. We
like it. We like to see our competitors do
their very best. It interests us and does
us no harm. Yes, Sir, we are doing a big
business and are thankful—the more so be-
cause the business is growing and growing,
month by month."
When" visiting the Conn warerooms on
Monday, The Review asked Mr. Conn if
any decision had as yet been reached con-
cerning the disposition of the Benary
stock. "Yes," said he in reply, " it is to be
catalogued and included in the Conn stock.
This, of course, will call for additional
stock-space. At present the Benary goods
will remain where they are. In a few
days proper arrangements will be made
for their reception.
"I have had it in mind for some time past
to secure a more desirable location for the
warerooms, facing on Broadway. Here
we labor under several disadvantages.
First, our limited space and then the
climbing of steps to reach the warerooms
from the street. I have found just about
what I want on Broadway and negotiations
are now in progress. The exact locality
will be made known at an early date."
Henry J. Wehman, the well-known
music publisher of this city, died at his
home in Brooklyn borough on Monday
last. He was 42 years old.

just been issued from the Symphonion

perfected for the Imperial Symphonion, in
large and small discs, including the ' 'Anvil
Chorus" from "II Trovatore;" the "Mock-
ing Bird;" "Chimes," and " T h e Interfer-
ing Parrot" from " T h e Geisha."
The "Criterion" flusic Boxes.
The travelling representatives of M. J.
Paillard & Co., now on the road, send in
very encouraging reports. It is evident
that the well-earned Paillard reputation for
high-class musical-box products is being
well sustained.
Judgment for plaintiff has been rendered
by Judge Kenyon in the case of Wurlitzer
& Co., music dealers, against Ray Morton,
says the Toledo, O., Bee. This is one of
the sequels of the mysterious disappear-
ance of Gray, of the firm of Brown & Gray,
a few weeks ago. Brown & Gray, as agents
for the Wurlitzer Company, sold a $300
music box to Morton. Gray, on the night
of his disappearance, gave Morton a re-
ceipt in full for money due on the box on
the condition that Mrs. Morton would per-
mit her husband " t o go out and have a
time " with Gray.
Wurlitzer & Co. had never been paid for
the box, so they sought to recover on it
from Morton. The court held that Gray
was intoxicated when he gave the receipt
and for that reason declared it void.
" Busy/' the Regina Report,
This week's inquiry at the Regina ware-
rooms concerning trade conditions brought
forth from Mr. Tietz the usual cheerful
report:
'' We are busy here and at the
factory. There is no fault whatever to be
found with trade conditions, so far as the
Regina Co. are concerned."

struments to which no rack can be attached
