THE MUSIC TRADE REVIEW
The new Kimball self-playing organ is
finding a big market in the British Islands.
Robt. M. Marples, who represents these
instruments in London, recently secured a
large number of orders at an exhibition
held in Manchester where this instrument
was displayed and its capabilities very
much admired.
George Bothner, when seen on Wednes-
day, at his factory, reported business good
in both action and molding branches. His
present stock of moldings is very large
and exceptionally choice. Mr. Bothner
says he will be glad to furnish estimates at
any time.
The suit of Raphael Fassett against the
-Conover Music Co., of St. Paul, for inter-
pretation of contract has been amicably
adjusted out of court.
Prof. Wales, a well known piano tuner
of Grand Forks, N. D., intends to open a
music store in that place about the first of
the year.
F. G. Thearle & Co., of Chicago, have
been compelled, owing to the growth of
-their business, to enlarge their piano de-
partment by the addition of a large space
on the second floor of their building. A
wide ornamental stairway has been put in
the rear of the salesroom so that the new
department is easy of access.
E. E. Forbes, one of the successful
Southern dealers, has just removed from
his old quarters in Birmingham, Ala., to a
new three-story establishment at 2018
Second avenue, that city. In the various
departments a magnificent display is being
made of Knabe, Kranich & Bach, Conover,
Krcll and Kingsbury pianos, and Chicago
Cottage organs. Mr. Forbes also has
stores in Montgomery, Anniston and
Rome, Ga.
Moriz Rosenthal, who will play the
Steinway grand piano during his tour of
the United States, soon to be inaugurated,
arrived in this city from Europe on
Wednesday last.
Crawford G. Cheney accompanied by
Mrs. Cheney has been visiting the West on
a combined pleasure and business trip.
