THE MUSIC TRADE REVIEW
Big Piano House proposed.
A
Great Favorite—Lindeman & Sons' Latest.
[Special to The Review.]
Dubuque, la., Jan. 5, 1898.
There is every probability that Dubuque
will soon be in line with other Iowa cities
and be headquarters for the State and adja-
cent territory for at least one of the largest
piano houses in the country. In case of
the failure of the contemplated reorganiza-
tion of the Barnard, Walker & Co., two
large Eastern piano factories will un-
doubtedly put in a large stock of pianos
and organs in this city and open a State
headquarters with Messrs. George and
Frank Barnard in charge. In case no suit-
able location for salesroom can be found,
the Eastern houses will purchase a site and
erect a building that will be a credit to the
city. An option has been secured on two
pieces of property and the matter will
probably come to a head in a couple of
weeks. These houses consider Iowa a
good field and want to get a firm foothold
here. If they come they will have one of
the finest music halls in the State.
Arrangements have keen consummated
whereby the Freyer & Bradley Co., of
Atlanta, Ga., will hereafter be a Chicago
Cottage Organ Co. institution exclusive-
ly. The management will be in the hands
of H. B. Morenus, who has had a wide
experience in the interests of the C. C.
O. C. in the South.
One of the latest and most popular pro-
ducts of Lindeman & Sons, this city, is the
piano above pictured. It is a most artistic
instrument and finished, as all the Lin-
deman products are, in the best and most
careful manner, it is as neat a piano as
a dealer would care to have in his ware-
rooms. This instrument is made up in
three woods and designated as follows:
Style M, walnut; style N, mahogany;
style O, oak. Its dimensions are: Length,
5 feet, 1 inch; depth, 2 feet, 4 inches;
height, 4 feet, 9 inches. It has 7 ^ oc-
taves; three unisons; overstrung scale;
full iron frame, nickeled depression bar;
continuous hinge; patent bridge arrange-
ment; French grand repeating action;
three pedals; soft stop; ivory keys; hand
carved hard wood trusses, mouldings,
ornaments and panels; hand carved bot-
tom panel; patent automatic swinging
desk full width of case; patent folding fall
board; bushed tuning pins, and polished
elm back. This instrument has won the
highest compliments from all who have
seen it. It is a big seller.
