S. R. Ingham, a banker of Little Falls, N.
Y., was] in town Friday, the guest of J. R.
Mason, of the Sterling Co. His object was
to look over the big plant and glean informa-
tion about the business, to assist him in the
negotiations pending in the piano trade, in
which he has much personal interest.
Mr. Ingham is planning the consolidation
of several first-class instrument concerns in
the East and the result of his tour of investi-
gation will doubtless be a piano syndicate.
The visit to Mr. Mason and the Sterling
shop has no significance other than that it
was to give the banker an idea of how busi-
ness is conducted at a factory where such 'suc-
cess is attained.
While there has been no talk of the Ster-
ling going into a syndicate, the company
might do so if it was profitable. The Ster-
ling enjoys an excellent reputation in the
trade and the outlook for the coming year is
most encouraging. A thorough inspection was
made of the factory and the visitor gathered
much information.
Mr. Ingham returned
home Friday night.—Ansonia, Conn., Senti-

Lindamood & Smith, music dealers, of
Portland, Ind., have dissolved partnership,
Mr. Smith retiring. The business is to be
continued by Mr. Lindamood.
