WM. KNABE & SON arc having- a great
success with iheir new 1895-96 styles. Ths
Colonial designs are especially beautiful.
A DECIDED novelty in the way of piano
casing—the invention of a Milwaukee
music dealer—is on exhibition in that city.
After several years of study and experiment
the inventor hit upon leather as the most
attractive as well as the most durable article
for incasing pianos. The instrument was
built in Buffalo. The color of the leather
selected for the first specimen instrument
was a rich black, handsomely embossed,
giving the impression of exquisite carving.
Not only does the instrument thus encased
present a most attractive and dignified ap-
pearance, but it has the advantage of being
something in finish that cannot be marred
or spotted.—Salt Lake Herald.
says The Boston, of Kansas City. Mr.
Metcalf comes from Brooklyn, N. Y., where
he has been conducting a house, and brings
with him a sound business knowledge, and
a pleasing courtesy to aid him in his ven-
ture here. Mr. Reeder, the former mana-
ger, has been appointed general traveling
manager for this section.
AN exceedingly pleasant acquisition in
music trade circles, is Mr. George Metcalf,
the manager of the F. G. Smith house here,
THE Hazelton and Reed pianos will be
