W. A. LAWBENCE & SON, Boston, Mass., state that
trade has revived wounderfully during the past few
weeks and they are now having all they can do-
The Lawrence piano is rapidly gaining favor in the
West. In Chicago they have a very enterprising deal-
er in Mr. J. O. Twichell, who is running their piano
as his leader, He formerly sold the Briggs as his
best instrument.
VOSE & SONS, Boston, are doing a very large retail
business. They sold five pianos in one forenoon no t
long ago. It's an exceedingly cold day when a per-
son calls at their warerooms with the intent to buy,
without being satisfied. When Willard can't sell a
piano, there isn't much show for anyone else.

George W. Wacker, of New York City. Combined
with a pneumatic valve is an electro-magnet having

A PIANO stool has been patented by Mr. Claude W.
Blackburn, of Chicago, 111. This invention covers a
special construction intended to facilitate the rapid
adjustment of the seat to the desired height, for
which it is only necessary to lift it with the hands,
where it is automatically held where placed, the stool
being cheap, strong, and not liable to get out of
order.
