Mr. William Bohrer's Automatic
Hand Guide is an excellent invention,
and can be especially and most success-
fully used in the elementary studies of
the pianoforte. It consequently deserves

The Automatic Piano Hand Guide,
invented by Mr. William Bohrer, will
prove to be exceedingly practical and
useful when strictly and attentively em-
ployed. Although of very simple con-
struction, this instrument will develop the most perfect pass-
ing of the thumb in scales and scale passages, and in broken
chords of every position. It will thus free the hand from
any disagreeable downward pressure, as well as from its
common tendency to rise when passing the thumb under
the finger. It will also gradually give lightness and steadi-
ness of the hand, qualities so essential to the smooth and
even execution of certain styles of music.

The Hand Guide, invented by Mr.

in our opinion, can be used with great
advantage by beginners on the piano-

contracted bad habits in their playing. For such cases we
shall use the Guide at the Royal Academy.
