O. D. Jennings & Co ., Chicago, had many grand slots with which to greet the new decade
of the ' 40s . The popular smaller models , "Little Duke" and "Duchess" were still sell-
ing well. But of all the Jennings machines , as the '40s came on, " Jennings Century"
with Triple Jackpot as either a bell or a vender, proved the most popular seller in
the standard size Jennings ' slots . The machine shown above is " Jennings Century Triple
Jackpot Vender ."
The Century was, without any doubt , the flashiest machine Jennings had ever prod-
uced . It was also one of the sturdiest machines on the market . Very impressive look-
ing from its old fashioned gooseneck coin chute to the way the triple jackpots pro-
truded from the front of the machine . The Century was pictured here in an earlier
issue of this " Pictorial History" edition. It is being shown again because, as War II
rapidly approached, it was O. D. Jennings biggest seller.
The Jennings factory on West Lake Street in Chicago was among the first to enter
into war work. Before that happened, there was acry from Jennings ' machine operators
for as- much equipment as could possibly be manufactured. O.D.Jennings tried as best
he could to satisfy this demand . In fact , everything in the Jennings fact ory was
bought up by operators who flew to Chicago from many miles away . It was a factory
empty of machines that welcomed war production.
