"Until the manufacturers wake up", writes Dr. Daniel Hoffman of Peoria,Ill., "that we need
games that are fun to play, because the major age group of players is 12 to 21 years, we
will continue to make less money. During the '30s and '40s there were a great many pinball
manufacturers. New innovations abounded. There has not been a new, major improvement in
pinball in over 20 years. Is the future mold of pinballs set at two or more flippers, one
or more bumpers, etc,? What happened to the inventiveness of the industry?" (Care to ans-
wer Dr. Hoffman? Write: Marketplace, 185 N. Wabash Ave., Chicago,Ill.60601.)
MEW BLDG FOR ARK FIRM
STUTTGAH.T,AliK, - A.B.C.Vending Service, this city, is a full line operating firm featur-
ing music, games and venders. Billy Simpson, owner of the firm, pictured upper right, is
one of the progressive young men. pointing the way in the industry. His new building has
won much respect and regard for his firm from all in this area. On the left is Mary Ann
Spann, receptionist for the firm, and one young lady that is making a career in the coin
machine industry. The belief among coinmen here is that this firm's business methods and
progressive action have helped to build better public relations for all concerned, This
new building has certainly opened the eyes of the public and its officials to the growth
of this industry in the commerce of this city. This new building certainly is a far cry
from the type of stores, many with blackened windows, that were the vogue in the industry
for many years. Billy Simpson, by the way, was formerly with C. A. (Shorty) Culp of Okla-
homa. City,Okla,
