CITY ,OKLA. - Oklahoma.' s leading operators and their wives ca.me together for a.
luncheon r.ieeting a.t the Holiday Inn, this city, October 12, 1975, to create a new state-
wide association which they agreed to call, "Oklahoma Society of Coin Automation". (OSCA)
Tom Harris of Southern Vendinp, Co., Ardmore,Okla.., is president of OSCA. C.A.(Shorty)
Culp of Culp Distributing Co., this city, paid for this luncheon.
The two men who sparked this meeting were Howard lUley and Durton Salmon of lt&M Music
Co . ,Tulsa,Okla . It was their dedication to the industry and their faith in it5 future in
the state of Okln.homa. that brought Dill Gersh, publisher of "Marketplace", from Chicago
to spea.lt a.t this first meeting of the Oklahoma. Society of Coin Automation. Their public
relations efforts in behalf of Tulsa's Fire Dept. have been locally acclaimed. They now
urr,e OSCA to tie in with PAL, Police Athletic League, as the organization's contribution
to the future good and welfare of the youth of Oklahoma, their best customers. Both Howard
ltiley and Burton Salmon are completely dedicated to improving the image of the industry
thruout their state by outstanding public relations.
A beautiful shield that will become a decal is being designed to be featured on all
music, games and venders of OSCA members . The OSCA shield will appear in advertisements
in the stn.te's leading newspapers advising the public to patronize machines featuring
the shield for these a.re the finest from the standpoint of service to the people in the
state of Okln.homa. Locations will be alerted by OSCA members to watch for these newspaper
ads . A campa.ir,n for 10o{o membership is under way with each present member devoted to
bringing in another member. OSCA asked its members to give but four hours per week of
their time to this work.
A sidelight to this first meet of the Oklahoma. Society of Coin Automation was the out-
standing dinner at Tulsa's famed supper club the evening of October 11 by Mr. and Mrs.
Howard L. ltilcy for Dill Gersh , Present were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Dagna.11, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy
Duncan, Mr. and Mrs. Paul It. Schultz and Frank Neely. It & M Music are building one of the
most fascinating and outstanding "Family Entertainment Centers" in the history of the in-
dustry in Tulsa. In addition to games, food and television, it will feature a completely
air-conditioned indoors 9-holo miniature golf course.
Enthusiasm is reported to have been growing daily as more and more of Oklahoma's op-
erators are advised of the new state association. There is now every belief among leading
operators that Oklahoma will hold its ovn state convention sometime in 1976 and that Okla-
homa will appear a.t the next national meet as an outstanding statewide group flying on to
Chicago in an OSCA chartered plane.
