Richards. Taylor of San Jose, CA, got
to work with his camera for us again,
adding to our historical recaps. For
starters here's a 100 Jennings CHIEF
("4-Star Chief") with the hunting
scene front. The machine is dated
1936, and is finished in black wrinkle
and natural aluminum. The old type
coin head is interesting.

MARCH
1981 Arcade Museum
A classic from Rich Taylor. This is the
H play version of the Mills SILENT
GOLDEN VENDER, although the side
vender is missing in this photo. Mills
made a major push for 10 play in
1933, with the "Roman Head" one of
the leaders. The machine is dark blue
with the golden head and trim.
The "Bursting Cherry" is one of the
collector favorites because it looks so
exciting and dramatic. This is Rich
Taylor's Mills CHERRY BELL, 50 play,
serial 428, 747, dated 1936. The finish
is a satin black wrinkle with an orange
burst, obviously a rebuilt/revamp of
the wartime or immediate postwar
years, most probably by Buckley
around 1945.
