Coin Slot Magazine - #076 - 1981 - June [International Arcade Museum]
Dear Doctor Bicknell,
Dear ]ohn,
Somebody did you a nice favor thirty years ago. They
gave you a practically mint condition Mills Q.T., actually
the NEW Q.T. "convertible" model. The date is 1938.
We sent your pictures back as asked, but it's a shame.
Your photography is very good and I only wish we could
Thanks for the correction, John (sometimes our right
hand doesn't jibe with our left!) and glad you enjoyed
seeing your machine. It's easy to goof sometimes (for in
stance, your letter was dated 1891).
You've got an extra kick coming. Your SUPERIOR
GRAND PRIZE serial — correct, I might add — is also in
the "100 Most Collectible Slot Machines, Volume 3" with
thousands of other serials. The book will be out soon.
have printed them.
The Coin Slot Guide you're looking for is Guide No. 82
for the Mills Q.T. Unfortunately, that's fairly well down
the line and the guide probably won't be ready for a year
or so. We just might speed it up as we've had many re
quests for the Mills Q.T. Coin Slot Guide, but that deci
sion hasn't been made yet.
Incidentally, your machine is described in Volume 1 of
"An Illustrated Price Guide to the 100 Most Collectible
Slot Machines". We've only got a few copies left with the
1978 values, but the volume is now being reprinted with
The Editor
many new photos, updated prices and — best of all — an
index, the latter missing in the original printing. You can
get it from Coin Slot Books for $15.95 plus postage.
Editor
Dear Editor,
This letter is in response to The Coin Slot issue of
March 1981. It was a pleasant surprise to see my Caille
Grand Prize, and your acknowledgment of my letter.
Please take note for your records for the serial number
updates that the serial number within the update listing
is incorrect and should read same as letters to the editor
which is 51874.
Thank you for your interest and continued mailings of
The Coin Slot.
