Editor's
Statement
Rosanna Harris
Welcome to a brand new year and from the response we
got from all of you in 1980, we are eager for 1981. Our
hobby continues to grow and with the growing there are
some pains. Last year we stood with Paul Landsgaard
during his court case in Idaho which made it apparent
more must be done in the state legislatures. In this issue
you will read Louis Fischl's article on another area which
can become, and did become for some individuals, a
problem. Wewelcome your comments on this article as we
feel that we must correct the lack of an adequate definition
of "antique slot machine" before someone finds themself
in an awkward and costly situation.
We'd like to call your attention to the articles written by
Art Reblitz in this issue. This will be a regular feature, but
he needs input from all of you. We know that many slot
machine collectors are also music collectors. Give Art a
boost with your questions, pictures and additional infor
mation. We're certainly excited about having him with us.
We are going to have occasional articles from Rick Botts
on jukeboxes and also from Russ Jensen on pinballs. If
you have any questions about either or both - now is your
chance to get some good answers. Fire those letters in
today.
Finally, we'd like to thank those of you who pass your
copy of The Coin Slot around to your friends and
associates. The response is great - subscriptions are
increasing!! It's more work, but we love it.
