Editor's Statement
Rosanna Harris
Our recent announcement of a reduction in cost for the
classified ads has brought a very good response. A
bargain is always a stimulant for better business. Ask
anyone who elbows their way through the crowd to get at
least one of the marked-down items.
We're very happy that you agree with us on the point
that an ad in the right magazine will get a favorable
response.
One of our readers recently pointed out a service which
we once had and no longer carry is sorely missed. He
noted that it was helpful to have some sort of calendar of
coming events or at least a schedule. Beginning with this
issue we will reinstate a "Coming Events" section. It will
only be of benefit if we have a lot of cooperation from the
show and auction promoters. We will print the show or
auction name, place and date. This will not preclude the
display advertising which is much more helpful to our
readers. This will be a composite of dates and places so
that our readers can more effectively plan their attendance
at all the coming events.
In order to make this an efficient column we will have to
receive the needed information at least 2 months in
advance of the show or auction. That will assure at least
one publication of the date before the actual show or
auction. We would, of course, appreciate receiving the
information more in advance so that our readers have
more of an opportunity to make their plans.
We're planning a very special December issue - more
features - more pages - more (wait and see). Please make
sure your subscription is current and send us your news
items, comments, questions, ads or whatever as we want
December to be the best so far.
The December issue will also have coverage of Roy
• Arrington's Auction and the Fun Fair. We'd like to be able
to also cover the Metropolitan Advertising Show, but we're
afraid we'll have a closing deadline problem. No matter,
the December issue will be one you'll definitely want to
keep.
