UPCOMING AUCTION:
What's been billed as one of the largest
antique gaming machine auctions to be held in recent years will
take place over this Thanksgiving weekend at the Disneyland
Hotel in Anaheim, California. (See ad this issue for full details).
Several very attractive machines have already been consigned, with
more on the way. Timing of the event appears to be excellent; as
collectors will be free to attend that weekend if they so choose.
And who could dream up a more perfect setting, especially for
families with children.
on their own.
It is a great place to turn the kids loose
The results should prove to be very interesting
and we will report them to you next month.
I'm looking for
ward to it, and hope to see you there.
LATEST FROM HOLLYWOOD: We received a sizable promotion
al packet just the other day announcing a new movie to be re
leased soon.
Titled "Tilt", it is about a 15 year old female pinball
wizard, with Brooke Shields in the starring role.
According to
the promoters, "Tilt" . . . should do for pinball what "Jaws"
did for shark awareness and what "Saturday Night Fever" did
for disco music and dancing.
That remains to be seen, of course.
But I could not help from wondering when Hollywood is going
to release a movie with a central theme focusing on slot machines.
Maybe they could call it "The Lady Who Won a Million Off The
One Armed Bandits of Las Vegas."
