job you will get done for you as well. It
just depends on how good you want
your restoration to come out. In addi
tion, be prepared to wait for the various
jobs to be completed. The good people
are usually swamped with business, and
it may take them a while to get to your
job. Remember, they can survive quite
well without you, and they know it.
So do not press them for time or act
hostile towards them in any way. Such
actions may only lead to repercussions
later on with you usually coming out
on the short end of the stick.
And
please don't be afraid to compliment
them for a job well done. It may even
lead to better work the next time or
you may be moved up on the priority
list or nothing may come from it. But
it can't hurt and is only common cour
tesy. Whew! That's enough advice and

Back to the machine. We used some dry ice to remove the delicate
old wood carvings from the cabinet. Placing dry ice on and around the
carvings loosens them by freezing the old glue underneath. It is a very
simple, quick process and we highly recommend it to you. Once we
removed the wood carvings, they were whizzed off to our wood carving
expert. The magic he performs with his tools never fail to amaze us.
With just one old chipped, rotted, and scarred carving he can turn out
numerous pieces of the same design that are indistinguishable from the
original carvings when they were brand new. He can do it even with
just a picture. In this instance he was going to recreate all the carvings
for "The Star's" cabinet.
