Once it has been established that a watch is a Waltham product, it is
very simple to determine its approximate age. Just compare the serial
number on the back plato of the movement to the chart above. This will
give you the approximate age of the watch, plus or minus one year. Do
not be confused by the serial number on the case, it has absolutely
nothing to do with number on the movement, in most cases. Naturally,
this chart only applies to Waltham watches. In lu'uire issues, look for
articles
and charts on
companies,
such
as
some
Elgin,
of
the
other
great
Rockford,
American
Dueber-Hampton,
om
m.c
watch
etc.
