Let's J\fot (det Gaught
Like Jhis .Again!
PEARL HARBOR was the first time-and we were really caught off guard. Decem-
ber 16, 1944, was another time we were caught with our pants down. Up until
that time we, as a nation, had been taking it pretty much for granted that the
Nazi goose was cooked.
Then, into our plans for reconversion, burst the news that soldiers of the Am.eri:co:n
armies were retreating. And from this lesson we learned not to b e over-ophmlshc
and the quickest way to end the war was to STAY WITH IT, AND IN IT!
Now the n ews is more favorable but there's a long way to go to achieve final
victory . .. and wh e n it does come-WILL YOU BE CAUGHT WITH YOUR PANTS
DOWN? Use these months to build up customer relations and goodwill so that y ou
will have a r eady audience for the sales s tory you will have to tell after the war.
There's no better media to use for that purpose than the ONE monthly all worth-
while operators read and the only one to have shown an advertising and sub-
scription growth in th ese critical war months. We' d like an opportunity to tell you
more ... and as pape r permits, to prove that a proper seeding today will bring a
bumper crop tomorrow.
