Future plans of the Bally orgal)ization call for production
of new games immediately after the defeat of the enemy .
For this purpose the new enlarged Bally plant, illustrated
below, and now in full production on war products, is de -
si gned to insure rapid conversion to the products of peace.
In the post-war era, a s in the pa st, "you can bank on
Bally " for the newest in money -making coin -operated
equipment.
KANSAS CITY, Mo.-The Vendo Co.,
peacetime manufacturers of soft drink vend·
ing machines, has been awarded its fiftb
Army·Navy "E". award star. I
Vendo started in war production in April,
1942, and won its first Army-Navy burgee
awa rd five months later. Since then it has
been awarded a star for every six-month
period. The fifth star marks the last the firm
may receive for at lea t a 12-month period.
With five stars on it flag Vendo joins the
24 other firms in the entire country to have
been so honored by the Army and Navy
since Pearl Harbor. Vendo is producing
a ir-born s ignal equipment.
Vendo heads the list of "E" nag firms in
the Coin Machine Industry. Others are:
Packard Manufacturing Corp., J. P. See-
burg Corp., each with three tars; Lion
Manufacturing Corp. (Bally), Stoner Man-
ufacturing Corp., Watling Manufacturing
Co., a nd Rudolph Wurlitzer Co., each with
two tars; and Arthur H. DuGrenier, Inc.,
O. D. Jennings & Co., and orthwestern
Corp., each with one s tar.
Roy Bazelon On Coast
LOS ANGELES-Roy Bazelon of Mon-
arch Coin Machine Co. is spending some
time on the Pacific Coast in company with
Mrs. Bazelon. Ten days were pent at
Fort Ord near Monterey, where their on
is in training with the army.
Here in Los Angeles the Bazelons have
headquartered at their Coast branch, Pa-
cific Coast Distributors, an d Len Micon
has been howing them the hi gh spots of
the outhland. They expect to return to
Chicago in two or tluee weeks.

tributed in 1945, to carryon the good
work of th is organization and lend the
encouragement needed to have letters writ-
ten to th e men and women on our fighting
front.
"It is interesting to note," said Nelson
and Kelner, "that when we first took hold
of the work in the organization last May,
that a great many people were reluctant in
support in g the plan because at that time
they thought th e war would be over in
the next 30 or 60 days. Many of these
same people have s in ce changed their
minds like millions of others .in the cou n-
try, and they are now fully aware of the
fact that th e war is far from over. The
need of letters written to soldi er by their
family members and friend is more im-
portant than eve r, accord ing to govern-
ment officials. Any person having a relative
or a friend in the service realizes how im-

portant and how much good a letter ca n
be to a man on the fighting front. The
ational Co in Machine Association needs
the hel p and co-operation of every member
of the Industry to car ryon the work of
the War Activities Comm ittee. Permanent
headquarters of th e Association are located

It is a non-profit organization crea ted to
en list the power of advertisin g for Victory.
The Officers and committee members re-
ceive no compensation for their work and
everything is done in patriotic spirit for
the cause."
The Treasury Department at Washing-
ton has approved the application of the
Association for exemption from income
taxes of all contrib utions.
