awarded two white stars to its A,rmy·Navy
"E" award penn ant for excell ence a nd con ·
tinu ed perfection in th e produ ction of wa r
materi el.
Ca pehart's announ cement was based on
a letter from Robert P. P atterson , und er-
sec retary of war, conta.inin g news of th e
th ird successive award. The letter was ad-
dressed to the men a nd women empl oyees
of the corporation .
" I am pleased to inform yo u th at you
have won for th e third time th e Army-
Navy production award for hi gh achi eve-
ment in th e producti on of war materi als,"
Patterson wrote.
"In maintainin g the fin e record whi ch
first brought you di stin ction, you have set

Th e awards were made to both th e Co-
lumbi a avenue a nd th e Niagara divisions
of th e co rporation.
Seeburg Makes Change
LOS ANGELES- Important distributor-
ship changes we re announ ced here on May
1st by D. J. Donohue, Western representa-
tive for the J. P. Seeburg Corporation.
The E. T. Ma pe Music Co., whi ch has
served as See burg distributors fo r Califor-
ni a , Arizona a nd Nevada for several years
past, has relinquished the line a nd J ean 1.
Minthorn e, Los An geles, has been appointed
Seeb urg distributor for Southern Califor-
ni a and Southern Nevada. Jack R. Moore
Co., Seeburg distributor in th e P acific
Northwest, has added Northern California
and thi s territory will be served out of th eir
Sa n Francisco office. Other distributor
a ppointments are in th e offing and will be
announ ced shortl y.

zation will continu e to se rve Seeburg Dis-
tributors un til the newly appointed distrib -
utors have built up sto cks of parts and sup-
plies and are in a position to take over the
servi cin g in accordan ce with fa ctory wishes.
Formal a nnoun cements will be made in
a forth comin g issue of TH E REVIEW at
which time the individual di stributors and
the Seeburg orga nization will outline th e
new set-up and pl ans for th e Post-War
years.
General Has Routes
LOS ANGELES- Th e General Music
Co. is now spec ializin g in th e buyin g and
sellin g of es tablished routes and both th e
San Francisco and Los An geles offi ces have
several routes listed for sa le.
Since entering into this sales activity
General has become th e lead er in handlin g
route tra nsfers and h ard ly a week passes
without a purchase or sal e of an importa nt
operatin g property in the state.
General is equipped to buy a ny size
route outri ght for cash and sup ervi se its
operation until it is sold to anoth er op-
era tor. All of the sal es are made to op-
e rators already active in th e fi eld for Gen-
e ral ma inta ins " we prefe r to do busin ess
with th e boys alrea dy ac tive -in our busi-
ness,"

also offe rin g an extensive finan ce service to
ope rators. Operators desirin g to expand or
buyout a competitor willin g to sell, are
provid ed with th e necessary fund s a nd
aided in workin g out th eir ex pansion pl a ns.

operations as opportunities arise," stated
