HOW SWEET YOU ARE (V)
THE DREAMER (V)
Decca presents a new personality
with a voice worth a million dollars.
Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, this
new thrush does two tunes from Warner
Bros. "Thank Your Lucky Stars" with the
BaIIadiers chanting the background.
Tunes are handled as vocal foxtrots
and pack a lot of interest. Although
new discs are now coming through
with orchestral backgrounds you can't
miss on this pair for they are far su-
perior to most of the vocal stuff record-
ed during the Petrillo ban.
3* 18567 Glen Gray
MY HEART TELLS ME (FT VC)
MY SHINING HOUR (FT VC)
The Cas a Lorna offers a pair of top
picture tunes now gaining plenty of
plugs on the radio. First side is taken
from Betty Grable's "Sweet Rosie
O'Grady" while the second hails from
Fred Astaire's "The Sky's the Limit." Ar-

apd rendition gives it a fresh re-birth.
Vic Schoen's orchestra handles the. in-
strumental 'accompaniment and the
whole affair cooks, uP ' hlto as hot and
interesting a dish as has come our way
in months~ Platter mate is a lively fox-
trot polka rhythm with Bing and the
girls singing throughout. All in all a top
rank disc in these , days.
3* GOOD. Suitable for rounding out balanced
programs. Numbers fading in popularity.

3* 7065 Harry James ,
A MILLION YEARS AGO (FT VC)
CARNIVAL ,OF VENICE (FT)
Another , of the James recordings
comes up for re-issue and ' to a Jame,s
starved jive audience this one will get
the plays on phonographs. Then, too,
the Dick ' Haymes vocals on the first
side will come in for consideratior).
First side is , at a moderate tempo ond
gives the side to the vocal work of
Haymes. James takes over on the sec-
ond side and bums up the trumpet on
this straight instrumental. Haymes has
changed his 's tyle somewhat since this
record was first ,made but, the James
trumpet remains about the same. Okeh
material for the automatics.
'
rangements are okeh but the chirper,
one Eugenie Baird, accounts for the
three star rating on the disc. Suitable
material. however, for it's the only rec-
ord at present of these two up-and-com-
ing tunes.

LATER TONIGHT (V)
CUDDLE UP A LITTLE CLOSER (V)
Another duo of vocal loxtrots with
the Balladiers in the background. First
tune is from the current "Wintertime"
movie while the second is an oldie dug
up from yesteryear. Both fit Miss, Armen

THE REVIEW:
Be fore the war I subscribed to a
number of trade papers, including
yours, and whIm billed for renewal of
subscriptions I u sed to grumble a s the
papers were often left unread. When
the wa r ca me the subscriptions were
allo wed to lapse, and for a few months
it was all ri ght. Then I found that I
was comple tely out of touch with man-

I hope your m a nufacture r s will have
