Bill Gersh
In these solemn and serious days, Bill, when all this industry has become a much
more highly concentrated unit, when all of us are endeavoring with ev·e ry bit of sticking
power we have to remain in business, when ingenuity and ability and leadership are so
much more necessary to help us to maintain as mighty a backbone as we can today-
for tomorrow-we need yo ... , Bill.
We especially need you, Bill, for you have been ol')e of our leaders for many years
and know the pleasures and the heartaches and all the problems that go into making
this known as an "industry." You ar·e therefore, Bill, one man we all feel we can turn to in ,
time of need and receive the encouragement and the aid that is most necessary to keep
us going when there sometimes seems to be so little to keep going for.
,"
Yes, Bill, We need you. ' We heed you for We sort of feel, when you are i,n there with
us - punching - fighting - always endeavoring to help better conditions -. , that you
are one of the men in this industry whom we have staked , our claim in to help us make

this industry greater than ever.
Coming back to us at this time, when we need you more than ev,er before, to help
us gain and create, to help us maintain and 'remain, to help us continue with tolerance,
honor and loyalty, to help guide us in the proper path, that, Bill, is completely significant
of the heart and soul and fighting spirit of true leadership. W ·e know that with you in there
working with us, trying for us, helping us in every way you possibly can-that we will be
greater than ever-when this war is over.
We need you, Bill.
