tions the Music Operator has his biggest opportunity to show his mettle and patriotism.
Naturally the going will be tough for awhile until your operations are adjusted to the
new scheme of things, but you must remember that the going has been tough for the
boys on Bataan, the lads at Midway and Wake, and the chaps now fighting our cause
in the Solomons and northern Africa.
Remember the Words of Wisdom Garibaldi uttered to his Roman soldiers:
"SOLDIERS, WHAT I HAVE TO OFFER YOU IS FATIGUE, DANGER, STRUG- I \

HEAT UNDER THE BURNING SUN: NO LODGINGS, NO MUNITIONS, NO PRO-

CONTINUED STRUGGLE WITH THE BAYONET AGAINST BATTERIES-THOSE
WHO LOVE FREEDOM AND THEIR COUNTRY MAY FOLLOW ME!"
Under current conditions Music Men have-another chance to participate to the maximum
in the present emergency by keeping their, equipment in the very best condition "pos-
sible, to handle service caUs and complaints cheerfully and understandingly without
berating and ridiculing existing rationing p rograms, and to convince all that we are
doing our best to carryon with MUSIC FOR MORALE fo.r the duration of the war.
To that goal General Music pledges its undivided suppor!. We shall be happy to assist
you in every way possible to maintain your opercrtions under these unusual conditions.
