SAN FRANCISCO- The wheels in th e
coin machin es have as much progress in
th em as any other wh eels, philosophi zed
J ohnn y Ru ggiero, as he prepared for th e
July open house celebration of J ack R .
Moo re Company. Johnny referred to the
new trend- for th e movi ng of th e Moore
establishm ent from tradition al "Coin Ma-
chin e Row," Gold en Gate Avenue, to Sixth
Street, casts a s hadow of future events.
Lou Wolch er, too, is desertin g th e fa -
mili ar "Row" for headquarters not far
from th e Moore doorways. Lou's elaborate
show rooms are now being co nstructed at
1350 Howard Street . . . wh ere hi s Ad-
va nce Autom ati c Sale Com pa ny will con-
duct business in th e future.
"You simply have no conception of wh at
thi s place will be lik e when it is fini shed,"
f riend Wolcher confid ed th e other day. "We
will , in addition to all th e new tra ppin gs
insid e, have com plete parkin g facilities for
twenty cars and I can tell you it is going
to be-well, wait a nd see."
Lou is too busy for a vacation this sum-
mer a nd we know why. Mea ntim e, TH E
R EVIEW has been p romised some pictures
of th e new place and we'll run th em oo n.
o wonder we had difficulty in findin g
Van ce Ma p e in hi s offi ce at San F ra ncisco
last month. He has been busy with C. T.
McKelvey, director of sales for the 1. P.
Seeburg Corporation of Chicago, who was
on th e Coast. With McKelvey was J ames
Barro n , general superintendent of th e
Seeburg plant. But we fin ally ca ught u p
with Vance and he sa id busin ess has been
s well and th e Seeburg Ba r-O-Mati c 5-10-25
Selector is goin g over with a bang. Vanc"
is still tryin g to ed ge th at vacation in and
hopes it may be soon now.
M . A. P olla rd of MAP Sales Company
out on Golden Gate Ave nu e avers that busi-
ness is excellent and it's even better out
of town th an in town. We' re glad to have
seen you th e other day, M. A. and hope
that busin ess continues to be good.
By th e time thi s issue is on the press,
J . Vance Wallace, who hea ds u p th e
Viking S pecialty Company in San F ran-
cisco, will be back in Tenn e see. His folks
have been marri ed fifty years and Vance
and th e famil y are drivin g back to help
th em celebrate th eir Gold en Weddin g An-
niversa ry. In cid entall y, it's going to be a
good tim e for Vance to call on some of th e
fac tori es, whi ch he'll be passin g on th e
way home.
Fred S . Neu mann likes his work and
no {oolin'. He can' t seem to push th e
Rock-Olas out fast enough and confides
th at his busin ess keeps him going at all
hours.
D. D. Pa tton , of Turlock, Calif., was
in Sa n Francisco on one of hi s frequent
calls. He a nd J ohnnie R uggiero were
drinkin g coffee in th e tave rn near Johnnie's
offi ce the other Saturday mornin g. Patton
operates in several of the vall ey town s and
do es a fin e busin ess. Th at was a nice sport
outfit you had on , D. D.
