CHICAGO.-The plant of the Groet-
chen Tool Company is humming with
activity as a result of a new expansion
program in their manufacturing activi-
ties. Continuous repeat orders from sat-
isfied customers for the Columbia Con-
vertible Bell have necessitated the add-
ing of a large assembly force. All newly
hired mechanics are first put through a
training course to thoroughly acquaint
them with the exacting standards of
Groetchen workmanship before they are
assigned to the various jobs of as-
sembling, machining and inspecting Co-
lumbia Bells.
Token Payout Counter Games, which
were originated in the Groetchen fac-
tory more than two years ago, account
for activity on an entire floor devoted to
production of this type of game. Row
upon row of shining, streamlined games
move along the a ssembly lines. Scores
of skillful mechanics sit before test
benches where each machine must p.:rss
a thorough test before being released
for shipment.
Latest addition to the Groetchen plant
is the new division production skill
games like the new Skill Jump, and
service machines such as the new
Metal Typer Name Plate machine which
is to be released to the trade early
this summer.
Groetchen officials claim that they
have several "surprise games" in pro-
cess of manufacturing for early releas9.
These new games, they state, will 9S-
tablish entirely new s tandards of earn-
ing capacity yet requiring a minimum
of investment on the part of the opera-
tors.
Richard "Groetchen's reputation as a
mechanical engineer and his proven
organizing capacity for mass produc-
tion of precision equipment enables his
firm to turn out quality machines for
operators at substantial savings in
price. "Value received per dollar in-
vested" ranks high in Groetchen-made
equipment and accounts largely for the
phenomenal growth of this firm.
