PARADISE ISLAND TRIO (N) 1667
WHEN IT'S SPR;NGTIME IN THE
ROCKIES
ON MIAMI SHORE
Instrumental numbers of the highest calibre
combining the use of steel guitar , pipe organ
and vibraphone. Working together the three
give the impression of a full combination .
The tunes are established favorites . The ar-
rangements need z:pake no apologies . Recom-
mended.
SHELTON BROS. (N ) 5484
I TOLD THEM ALL ABOUT YOU
SEVEN YEARS WITH THE WRONG
WOMAN
Here is a positive hit . . . seek no further .
The first of this pair was a tremendous hit
a few years back . The Shelton duo do jus-
tice to it. It ' s a saleable item and a dandy
for most hillbilly and old lime spots .

MIKE RILEY (0) 1655
ooOOOH BOOM! (FT)
YOU'RE GIVING ME THE RUN
AROUND (FT)
Here is the composer himself directing his
own aggregation on the novelty number that
is supposed to put all past hit~ in the ashcan.
It really is clever . . . and good too. Coup-
ling is fair.
GENE AUSTIN (V) 1656
DEAR OLD SOUTHLAND
CHINA BOY
About average material from this great pop-
ular tenor. His numbers strike a responsive
chord in most individuals and lhis disc offers
no exception. Nicely done, with Candy and
Coco accompanying on the bass and guitar.
PIETRO (Accordion) 1668
FUNICULI, FUNICULA- VIVA LA GIGA
OVER THE W AVES (Waltz)
Two excellent accordion solos that should
prove a wise investment for the operator .
Many spots will go for material of this nature
occasionally.
BOB CROSBY (0) 1657
ALWAYS AND ALWAYS (FT)
MORE THA N EVER (FT)
SAN FRANCISCO
IN THE SHADE OF THE NEW APPLE
TREE (FT)
IT'S EASIER SAID THAN DONE (FT)
A quartet of dandies . Wisely coupled these
tunes offer a wealth of entertainment. Vocals
are tops.
ANDY KIRK: (0 ) 1663
POOR BUTTERFLY
LOVER, COME BACK TO ME (FT)
Operator numbers if there ever were any.
These popular hits of a few years back are
beautifully recorded by Kirk and his Clouds
of joy. A record that should be in every
phono . stack every once in a while .
SMITH BALLEW (0 ) 1666
ON THE SUNNY SIDE OF THE ROCKIES
ALONG A TEXAS TRAIL
From the film " Roll Along Cowboy" comes
this honeylamb hillbilly classic . Vocals pre-
dominate but still the record can be used for
dance spots. Very good.

THANKS FOR THE MEMORY (FT)
SMOKE FROM A CHIMNEY (FT)
Vocals predominate on both sides . Musical
background is broad enough to make this an
acceptable dance disc. Good .
GENE KARDOS (0) 80305
LOVE IS HERE TO STAY (FT)
LOVE W ALKED IN (FT)
The love angle comes in for double treat-
ment on this record. Tunes are by the Gersh-
wins and currently are being featured in
" Goldwyn Follies ." Good dance material.
SONS OF THE PIONEERS (HB) 80358
LET'S PRETEND
MY SADDLE PALS AND I
A pair of hillbilly naturals . The old time
singing of the Sons of the Pioneers is always
tops and these two are no exception to the
rule . A top disc for hillbilly spots. Vocals
are clear and distinct and the close harmony
is something to shout about.
the Hit Parade !
ALLAN JONES (V) 4381
THE ONE I LOVE
COS I COSA
Two sparkling vocal numbers by the tenor
Allan jones with Nathaniel Shilkret' s orches-
tra . This one will cost a little more than the
regular records for it's a red seal but it is
easily worth the difference . Numbers are
from the MGM film " Everybody Sing ." Really
fine .
LARRY CLINTON ( 0 ) 25775
I FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU EVERY
DAY (FT)
HOW 'DjA LIKE TO LOVE ME? (FT)
From Paramount ' s " College Swing " comes
this duo of dandies . Beatrice Wain does a
swellegant job of the vocals . A hit.
GUY LOMBARDO (0 ) 25778
THE OLD APPLE TREE (FT)
IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF
HEAVEN (FT)
It ' s not very often the Lombardos strut forth
on a novelty tune with a flock of novelty ly-
rics but if this one is a fair sample of their
abili ty let's have more . First side is a daisy.
Second side reverts to the sweet, sophisticated
s ort of tripe that completely distinguishes the
Lombardo band from the rest. Good .
" FATS" WALLER (0) 25779
BLUE, TURNING GREY OVER YOU (FT)
HONEYSUCKLE ROSE (FT)
The " Fats " jams two of his favorites . Strict-
ly relaxed jazz. As such, fair. No vocals .
Take it or leave it.
BUNNY BERIGAN (0) 25781
OUTSIDE OF PARADISE (FT)
A SERENADE TO THE STARS (FT)
A duo of ditties from pictures . The band
swings h- out of both tunes. Both are excel-
lent numbers, beautifully interpreted at a
modern swing tempo by Bunny 's band . For
nickel gathering . . . fair.
GUY LOMBARDO (0) 25786
T1-PI-TIN (Waltz)
LET'S SAIL TO DREAMLAND (FT)
Here is a ditty that has a genuine appeal
and is sure to build in popularity. We 've
called a few (mind you) wrong in the past
but this one looks right for a heavy run. The
Lombardos do a great job of recording it.
The cou pling brings to life a sleepy foxtrot.
This disc is worth plenty of attention for the
" A" side alone. It's great!
TOMMY DORSEY (0) 25774. 25780
ANNIE LAURIE (FT)
MORE THAN EVER (FT)
OH PROMISE ME (FT)
SHINE ON HARVEST MOON (FT)
First pair of foxtrots is in conventional fox-
trot time but the second duo lets go in swing
style . An exceptionally fine quartet of num-
bers. A wide variety to please every class of
patronage .
LEWIS " RED " EVANS (N) 25788
THANKS FOR THE MEMORY

Here is something absolutely different. Ev-
