RUSSIAN PINBALLERS

games w ith a vengeance.
SAN FRANCISCO. -Since the introduc-
tion of pinba ll machines into America·s
playworld, those singing horsemen of the
ste ppes, the Don Cossack chorus, can hardly
wait to step off the gang plank every year
or two on their musical tour of this coun-
try. The Cossacks speak very litt le Eng-
lish- some of them not a word-and those
.. fascinating machi nes" as they to ld this
correspondent in Russ ian, help to shorten
the time between concerts, and also provide
a pleasant form of relaxation.
In fact the fascinatio n has almost become
a fever among that group of sturdy Rus-
sians, for we found it almost impossible to
pry severa l of them away from the ma-
chines in a San Francisco hote l lobby re-
cent ly-even with promises of vodka !
The manager of the group informed us
that it was the same story from coast to
coast-"as soon as we hit a hotel," he
wai led, " the boys fortify themse lves with
supplies of nick les-and it goes on for
hours! Some of them are planning to take
a machine with them back to Europe even'"
MUNCIE, Ind. -Eastern and Mid-West-
ern operators have recently been turning to
Jar Games for a new revenue which form -
erly they cou ld not secure with any other
equipment, according to Guy Noel , presi-
dent of Gay Games, Inc. Noel points to
the fact that the jars can be placed in loca-
tions which do not have space for mechan -
ical games, thu s increasing their fi eld of
operating.
For the first time these Gay Game Jars
are to be available on the W est Coast, Noel
announced, adding that operators there will
find it we ll worth spending the time to
investigate them and discover how profit-
ab le they wi ll become, since they are "click-
ing" on thousands of counters throughout
the East at the present time.
