Genco's Criss Cross
Wins Instan t Popularity
CHICAGO-Genco, Inc., is proud of the
fact that of the thousands of "Criss Cross"
pin tables already delivered to the trade
all over the world, not one has been re-
turned to the factory because of a mechani·
cal imperfection.
It is interesting to read some of the
unsolicited testimonials received by the
Genco firm from operators and jobbers who
wanted to express their appreciation for
such a dependable game. One operator who
is running a string of fifty "Criss Cross"
tables stated that of all his games not one
has been laid up for repairs. Another
operator reports that "Criss Cross" tables
are pulling him out of the red.
'
Although "Criss Cross" has been on the
market for just a little over a month or so,
one large metropolitan jobber has sold
over 500 games. Other jobbers have either
sold an equal number or close to it.
"Criss Cross" is a clever pin table adap-
tation of the age-old "Go-to-Mill" game we
all played in our younger days, Remember
all those hours we spent putting those
circles and X's in the right spot so we
could fill a line? The play is extremely
simple but extremely interesting. The play·
ing field has but eleven holes. The trick
being to fill lines horizontally, vertically or
diagonally. Instead of a skill hole there is
a hole at the top that if "made" adds a line
to the player's score. After each line is
completed a slide appears on the score
register at the base of the playing field.
Another reason for the popularity of
"Criss Cross" is the striking beauty and
richness of both the playing field and the
cabinet. De luxe in size and appointments,
the cabinet is smartly set off by the highly
polished hardware. The playing field not
only enhances the beauty of the game but
also adds to the allurement and appeal.
From every indication, Genco officials
are apparently justified in their enthusiasm
over "Criss Cross."
Sell Record
Number Games
NEW YORK-To Nat Cohn and Irving
Somner of the Modern Vending Company
goes the distinctive honor of selling over
a million dollar's worth of pin games dur-
ing 1934.
N ever before in the history of the coin
machine business has any distributor ap·
proached this record nor does it seem likely
that any distributor will for some time to
come.
Modern Vending Company are perhaps
the most unique distributing organization
in the world. They sell very few machines
direct to the operators yet they are in
constant contact with all the operators in
their territory helping stimulate sales for
their jobber customers. Their greatest sales
are to the jobbers in the states of New
York, New Jersey and Connecticut, for
which states they have the representation
of the leading manufacturer's products in
this country.

Boyle Appointed
Oklahom a Distributor
CHICAGO-Boyle Amusement Company
of Oklahoma City has been appointed Ok·
lahoma state distributor for the Bally
Manufacturing Company, producers of AC·
TION, SKYSCRAPER, RED ARROW and
pther well known pin-games. Jim Boyle,
head of the concern, is well known in
Southwestern coin-machine circles and his
many friends are predicting great success
for Jim as Bally's distributor.
