To apply the tax stai;nps, a shipping case containing
cigarette cartons is opened, the seal on each carton of
cigarettes is broken, and the stamps applied to the · indi-
vidual packages. The carton is resealed with National's .
machine glue, which is also recommended for resealing the
larger shipping case at the end of the conveyor.

A contract manufacturing division for the coin machine
industry has been added to facilities of American Time
Corporation, Springfield, Mass., it was announced by
Frederick H. Hunter, president. Largely occupied in the
design of electrically driven timing devices for coin-
operated equipment, American Time Corp. is adding the
new division as part of its 1947 expansion program.
With a highly favorable labor situation in th!l area,
American Time's new division will concentrate largely on
mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies
fqr manufacturers whpse own facilities can not be extended.-
Utilizing newly developed facilities within its recently
acquired Pond engineering division, the company will offer
production design and engineering as well as facilities for
tooling, model-making, electrical. and mechanical engineer-
ing design. Physical facilities to be made available include .
welding, spot welding, soldering, orazing, wiring, riveting,
stamping, tooling, a screw machine, additional special
machine work, warehousing and shipping.
NEW COATED FA~RICS
FOR SERVICE CARS
A new 'illustrated booklet describing various types of
coated fabrics engineered for upholstery has been issued
by the Fabrics Division of E. I. du Pont de Nemours and
Company. It is available on request to the division offices
at 350 Fifth Avenue, New York 1, N.Y.
'J'.he Du Pont Company manufacturers a wide ral}ge of
coated fabrics for upholstery. "Fabrikoid" is its trade-
mark for the line of pyroxylin coated fabrics , which has
been popular for many years. A newer line is the "Fabri-
lite" vinyl plastic coated fabrics, available in a regular
type and in a fire-resistant quality which is particularly
desirable for places of public assembly. "Cavalon" is the
Du Pont trade-mark for its synthetic rubber coated fabrics,
useful for heavy-duty purposes, such as trucks and busses.
All three lines are described in the booklet.

A new general catalog has been released by Veeder-
Root, Inc., Hartford, Conn., featuring the Veeder-Root
counting units including all models and types used in
coin machine constructions. All information essential to
ordering any counter: in this line is included on the page on
