The announcement was made on
November 20 at which time Mr. Krieg
assumed his new duties. He succeeds
William F. (Bill) Struby, resigned.
Mr. Krieg will continue in his capa-
city as General Counsel as well, Mr.
Capehart said.
The new President joined the Pack-
ard Manufacturing Corporation on
January 1, 1946. He was elected to

the board of directors in June of this
year.
Prior to his affiliation with Pack-
ard, Mr. Krieg served in the armed
forces as a Colonel. He was assistant
general counsel to the Selective Serv-
ice System, attached to National Head-
quarters in Washington. He served
from March, 1942 to October, 1945.
Before entering the army, Mr. Krieg
was a practicing attorney in Indian-
apolis for ten years.

when Col. Bayne "volunteered for a
year's service" with the famous Chi-
cago Black Horse Troop in November,
1940. During his service in the Cav-
alry and the Army Air Forces, Col.
Bayne saw most of the 48 States and,
as he stated, "Too much of the South-
west Pacific," when he participated
in the invasion of the Philippines.
This "team" is back in coin machine
circles with a "money-making" patent-
ed electrically selective refrigerated
vendor, to be presented to the trade
through their distributors very soon.
