Cigarette Vendors Consider
Union Membership
A similar method which has
existed between Detroit music
m a c h i n e operators and the
United Coin Machine Workers,
Local 22312 is under consider
ation for Detroit c i g a r e t t e
vending machine operators. A
feature of the contemplated
set-up is that the union and
machine operators will deal as
units in matters of bargaining.
Each respective group would
be in a position to represent
the interests of the union and
the operators as a component
group, thereby eliminating the
necessity of dealing with indi
vidual operators.

PRICE CEILING RETARDS
SALES OF MACHINES
Sales of used coin-operated
machines h a v e been slowed
down. OPA price ceiling is giv
en as the reason for the change.
Reports indicate that the situ
ation is one of watchful wait
ing, and that as soon as buyers
and sellers get used to the new
s e t - u p the movement of ma
chines will continue.

Gram m ar
The president called his of
fice manager and thrust a let
ter under his nose. “ Look at
that! I thought I told you to
engage a new stenographer on
the basis of her gram m ar!”
The office manager looked
startled. “ Grammar? I thought
you said glam or!”
