long last, to cooperate and sup­
port a program for the good of
the industry. Everyone should
be ready to admit that what is
best for the industry in general,
is best for every person and firm
connected with it.
A few years ago, when the pin
games were at their peak, there
were all kinds of theories and
opinions at to what would help
the coin machine business.
“We would be better off if
there were fewer operators,”
declared many coin machine
men. Today, there are fewer
operators.
“There are too many new
models being introduced,” wailed
the operators. Today there are
fewer new models.
“We will never get anywhere
until pay-out machines are out­
lawed,” protested the merchan­
dise and amusement machine
operators. And today they are
outlawed in forty States.
“We need two associations,
one to promote the interests of
amusement machines,” declared
some of the coin machine men.
Today, we have a second manu­
facturers’ association, supported
mainly by the amusement ma­
chine manufacturers.
“Licensing is the answer to
our problem,” said one large
manufacturer, and he was sup­
ported by perhaps half of the
industry. The other half said:
