]yjR. DAV ID C. ROCKOLA an
nounces his latest creation, the
Tom Mix Radio Riflle! In discussing
this new device, Mr. Rockola said:
said:
value and has also gone through a
period of intense research in seeking
to make it the most “fool-proof”
mechanism ever developed in any
mechanical coin-operated apparatus.
“ Don’t overlook the profit produc
ing magic of that great name— Tom
Mix! The biggest and best known
and best loved name in the entire
amusement world. Look at the mil
lions of dollars of advertising power
in such names as Shirley Temple,
Babe Ruth, Major Bowes, Eddie Can
tor, Fred Allen, Jack Benny; then
realize that big collections for oper
ators are certain because of the sure
fire appeal of the name of Tom Mix,
tied up with the name Radio Rifle.”
On these locations the Tom Mix
Radio Rifle has actually brought in
bigger profits than - anything ever
placed in the similar location, accord
ing to Mr. Rockola.
The Tom Mix Radio Rifle has been
placed on a great many test loca
tions to determine its profit-producing
Tom Mix Radio Rifle embraces a
brand new principal. This achieve
ment was developed by Mr. D. C.
Rockola after many years of experi
ment until it was brought up to its
present state of perfection. This
principle is registered under patent
Nos. 101,260, 101,744 and 2,061,092.
The principle of this new mecha
nism is so simple it is said to make
expert mechanics wonder how it
works so perfectly. It produces uni
form results and is low in cost to
operate, as it only uses as much as
a 60 watt bulb.
Orders are pouring into the factory
to such an extent that over 2,500
bookings are now in the process of
manufacture. The big Rock-Ola fac
tory, comprising twenty buildings, is
reported to be working on three eight
hour shifts, turning out cabinets at
the rate of over three hundred daily
in a frenzied attempt to keep up with
the orders already booked.
When Mr. Tom Mix recently placed
an order of 117 for his Hollywood
friends, he made the following state
ment over his signature — “Take it
from me, boys — Rock-Ola’s Radio
Rifle, bearing my name, is the keenest
fun, sport, and amusement in the
world.”
