stage, were the ten Ramsal dancers,
the Keene twins with Vic and La
Marr in breathtaking acrobatics that
stopped the show, and as a grand
climax the tiny Korean princess,
Suzanne Kim, who was adorned in
nothing but a trim coiffure as she
flaunted her fans into the air.
May Discontinue Exhibits
Presentation of the trophy for the
best exhibit of the show to J. P.
Ryan of the Mills Novelty Co. wound
up the three-day program. Honorable
mention went to Pace’s Races and
the Wurlitzer displays.
In making plans for next year’s
event, the Show Committee has de
cided to abandon the coin machine
exhibits in favor of concentrating on
the convention and entertainment
features of the gathering. Operators
were unanimous in expressing their
desire for an annual get-together,
with distributors and jobbers co
operating by staging open house cele
brations and exhibits at their respec
tive establishments.
D a v a l Successes Force
R ecord Production
Reception accorded their latest
creations, Man ’n the Moon and
Penny Pack, has raised production
schedules at the Daval Manufactur
ing Company to the highest peak m
the history of their business, accord
ing to Mr. A. S. Douglis of the Daval
firm.
In addition to using every foot of
available space in their own build
ing, he states that additional space
has been acquired in an adjoining
building, so that production may be
speeded up.
“When we perfected the Penny
Pack machine,” Mr. Douglis pointed
out, “we felt that we had something
that would ‘click/ and certainly our
prediction has proved to be correct.
The public seems to have taken
readily to the idea of ‘a chance for
a package of cigarettes for a penny.’
Without a doubt Penny Pack is one
of the biggest successes we have ever
brought out.”
Although the Man ’n the Moon was
introduced only a short time ago
production on this machine is said to
be already moving at top speed. The
unusual appearance of the Man ’n the
Moon, in the opinion of Mr. Douglis,
has greatly influenced its popularity.
The back-board of the machine is
painted in blue and studded with

silver stars. In the center of this
panel is a large round face represent
ing the moon, which lights up as
various shots are completed in the
game.
As a supplement to Penny Pack
and Man ’n the Moon, Mr. Douglis
states that plans are under way for
a new pay table which will incorpo
rate several new features, never be
fore introduced into this industry.
“In other words,” he says, “it will
be a game of more than just pins
and balls.”
Screen Sportland
Ray Moloney, president of Bally
Manufacturing Company, is puffed up
at the news from New York that the
first machine used in the new Sport
land on the Screen idea was Bally’s
Crusader, famous five-foot pin table.
This new amusement, said to be gain
ing in popularity, shows movies of
people playing pin games and close-
ups of scores. Persons holding tick
ets bearing the scores made are pre
sented with a gift by the theatre.
