Gan See Everything
at Fair for $16.65
Babe Kaufman Now
Has Salesmen
For $16.65 an adult can see everything
that is to be seen at A Century of Progress.
This includes going into every pay con
cession and Midway amusement. Add to
this a $3 observation ride in a dirigible
balloon, $3 airplane ride and a 50c boat tour
of the lagoons and the total is $23.15. A
child under twelve years old can do the en
tire Fair, including all pay attractions, for
$12.05.
This is the officially tabulated, outside
total.
What actually happened was that the
2,464,413 visitors who paid gate admission
to the Exposition in its first month, May 27
to June 27, spent $2,500,000 among the con
cessions, an average of a dollar each, in
addition to their 50c admission (25c for
children under 12). The attendance for
the first month was more than was expected.
The gate admission of 50c for adults and
25c for children includes eighty-five exhibi
tion buildings and features and eighty-two
miles of exhibits.
This should put a final quietus on wild
guesses as to what it costs to see the
World’s Fair.
In accordance with the new policy of the
Irving Manufacturing & Vending Co., of
New York City, Samuel Goodkind has been
appointed their first traveling representa
tive by Babe Kaufman, president of the
company.
Mr. Goodkind has left to interview up
state operators and prospective operators,
giving them the benefit of his 15 years ex
perience in the coin-machine business.
Plenty of Pennies
in Los Angeles
Penny-machine operators of Los Angeles
are anticipating their share of the 7,000
pounds of coppers sent from the Federal
Reserve Bank of San Francisco in a recent
express shipment for sales tax purposes.
Out of the 41,000,000 pennies reported to be
on reserve, more than a few of them ought
to work their way into the coin-machine
business of that district.
California Operators
Honor Orcutt
At the August meeting of the Protective
Association of Coin Machine Operators of
Los Angeles County, Joe Orcutt was elected
president. He succeeds Jack Olson, who
has dropped out of the business in favor
of another line. Winifred Denton was also
elected as assistant secretary to E. A.
Smith.
Two Jobbers Unite
According to recent report, two well-
known distributors of the west coast joined
forces, when the Irving Bromberg Company
and S. S. Glasser of Los Angeles entered
into a partnership, thereby increasing their
warehouse facilities.
