Confidence of the Operator Is
Aid Against Piracy
A V ID C. ROCKOLA, President of
Rock-Ola Mfg. Corp., says: “Give
the operator a product he can use,
build it right, and price it fairly, and he
will show his appreciation.”
D
“And,” he went on, “it pays to give the
operator something original. This industry
has been beset by a swarm of ‘imitation-
manufacturers’ until the imitation problem
has become a major problem and one that
every leading member of the industry
should endeavor to stamp out!
“One of the things that is going to bring
about better conditions is that operators
are learning which companies have the
genuine article and which companies simply
give them a cheap copy.
Chicago Firm Changes
Name, Policy
In a recent interview with Sam Wolberg,
treasurer of The Chicago Coin Machine
Company, he announced a radical change
in the policy of the company. “During re
cent months” said Mr. Wolberg, “our co
operation has been sought by manufacturers
in marketing their machines on a national
basis. Because of our wide exeprience, we
have been of real assistance to them. As
a result, we are today exclusive national
distributors for the present popular Aris
tocrat Line as well as the manufacturers
of “Shootem.” In order to assure giving
the highest type of service to our manu
facturers, as well as to our many good cus
tomers, we have decided to discontinue
completely the handling of used equipment
of all kinds. The company name has been
changed to The Chicago Coin Machine Com
pany and our new policy will be to job
only the well known makes of new ma
chines in the Chicago territory in addition
to manufacturing or representing, under
exclusive franchise, certain machines for
the national market. As a result of this
change of policy we are unloading our en
tire stock of re-conditioned used machines
of all makes at startling prices.

Quality—Not Price
“Price, while it should be fair, need not
necessarily be the lowest in the world.
Operators know they are just fooling them
selves when they buy an untried, unknown
contraption that gives them nothing but
trouble and grief. They know that it is
a lot better to pay a dollar or two more
for a good product and be free of a lot
of service calls while, at the same time,
realizing some real profits.
Future Good
“The future holds promise of many good
things. Prices in all lines are going up.
And with them wages are going up. That
means that we shall all benefit.
“ W ith this knowledge, our Company
enters the future with complete confidence.
We know that operators will find our new
Super Double Jackpot as well as our three
new games to be products of merit— prod
ucts that will serve them right and help
them to better times and happier days!”
