Don’t Pay Too
Much Commission
A utomatic A ge :
I operate several “ penny machines,” such
as Base-Ball, Filmascope Basket-Ball, Bat-
a-Ball, etc. I am having1 considerable diffi
culty in placing these in regards to com
mission to be paid.
I offer 25 per cent, most o f my locations
say that they are offered anywhere from
30 per cent to 55 per cent. What is the
customary commission to be paid or what
do you recommend should be paid?
I am also just starting a route of gum
and peanut machines, what split do you
recommend to be paid on these. I have no
trouble getting locations but the commis
sion or rate to be paid is a joner so fa r.

We are interested in the purchase of ba’ l
gum vendors combined with a game of skill.
Can you refer us to manufacturers inter
ested in this line? We have written to
everyone mentioned in your Sept issue.

A utomatic A ge :
Just wonder if you would be so kind as
to give us some information.
The writer has perfected a new machine
that from indications so fa r is going to be
a good one. It represents quite a different
idea, and has a sure and continuous appeal.
The writer has been in the machine game
quite a while, and I know from the past
that when a new machine is brought out
a lot o f vultures jump right on the idea
even though patent has been applied for.
W hat I would like to have is your ad
vice as how to make a quick marketing o f
machine. I know your experience will per
mit you to make valuable suggestions
along this line.
Also do the big jobbers prefer to buy
machines outright or distribute them on a
commission basis? I realize that proper
jobber connections is half the battle.
In other words we have a new machine
about ready to market. W hat would you
do?
— N. W., Oklahoma.
P. S. Yould you consider letting some
large company manufacture and distribute
machines? Price should be around $16.50.
