Merest in coin-operated machines of American make in practically
all foreign countries during the year. A few foreign manufac
turers have also made moves to enter the United States.
If there is any practical use for anticipating 1930, we may
exPect important developments in the perfection of merchandising
machines, and especially in machines for dispensing drinks of all
kinds. A good advance was made with drink dispensing machines
during 1929 and we may expect the good work to continue. Also,
may well expect the completion of coin-operated refrigerating
units that will vend frozen confections, ice cream and even meats.
*t is not our purpose to try to suggest what channels progress
should take in 1930 but to leave that to the wisdom of those most
concerned.
, There are many angles to the trade that cannot be mentioned
*n this resume. In fact, we look forward to the coming Conven
tion in February to reveal many interesting and important develop
ments that few had scarcely dreamed of. We would like for the
lrnport of this article to be then, that every operator and manu
facturer would recognize the profit to be gained by attending the
Convention in person. Quite a number of manufacturers have
Whispered in our ear that they were hurrying up improvements
and also new devices to be ready in time for the Big Show.
. We have felt a personal pride during the year 1929 for the big
increasing prestige that comes to A u t o m a t i c A g e as the journal
devoted exclusively to the coin-operated machine trade. It is a
J°y to have operators turn to its pages as a sort of bible of the
ti’ade, to have manufacturers confer with us as to opportunities
progress, and to recognize that onlookers judge the importance
the automatic field by the prestige and success of the trade
Journal that represents it. We have felt this and in gratitude for
^ e support that has been given us from manufacturer and operator
alike, we have turned to meet the New Year with a new home and
niuch better equipment to assure continued improvements in your
ti’ade magazine during 1930.
