Introduce Bill
0 Prevent Slugging
,
Through the efforts of F. E. Turner, Presi-
ent Detroit local, and Secretary-Treasurer of the Coin Machine
. G a to rs’ Association of America, Congressman McLeod of Mich-
will introduce a bill in the next Congress making it unlawful
r any person to use a slug to obtain merchandise or service from
^ coin-operated machine or public utility, or to have in one’s
°ssession any coin the size and weight of a United States copper,
^ ckel or silver piece. Congressman McLeod advises us that the
rnand for this legislation should be as widespread as possible
for that reason we hope every reader of the Autom atic A ge
1 send his membership at once to the Coin Machine Operators'
Ss°ciation, who is backing this legislation. If we can get this bill
*°ugh, which we can surely do, it will be worth many times the
ernbership fee to every operator in the United States. Every
_ y rator should join so that his name can be submitted to the Com-
tee in Congress as favoring this legislation. The merits and
Merits of this are discussed on another page and the attention
° Ur readers is directed to it.
. *n connection with efforts of the industry to combat unjust
^slation, Automatic A ge is pleased to announce that Mr. A. E.
et>ert, president of the National Vending Machine Manufactur-
Association, has appointed a Legislative Committee to direct
e Work. The names will be announced in the August issue.
