Greater New York Oper-
ators Association
Functioning
'T
HE Greater New York Vending
Machine Operators Association,
Inc., is functioning quite smoothly
and from all indications in evidence,
a bright future is promised for all
members. Their offices are located
at 50 Court street, Room 607,
Brooklyn, N. Y. Their membership
is firm and growing. This organiza-
tion is on its toes, ready at all times
to defend its rights which is the
duty of any live association.
We asked Mr. D. Baron for
some information regarding the
Greater New York Operators As-
sociation and he replied to us in a
most friendly manner. We believe
our readers will appreciate reading
Mr. Baron's letter so we present it
below. The letter was received by
our office on September 13.
"I have here your request for
news items of our Association. I
am submitting herewith certain data
which you no doubt will be able to
re-arrange to make it fit for pub-
lication.
"However, let me first express my
gratitude for your interest in our
organization. I shall be glad from
time, to time to submit such matter
that may be of interest.
" Our organization has been func-
tioning quite smoothly since its re-
organization. It was originally or-
ganized when the Lark machines ap-
peared in the market.
It now
functions in all fiv.e boroughs of the
city. There are two separate locals,
'o ne in Brooklyn and one in the
Bronx. We have in a great meas-
ure succeeded in eliminating all un-
healthy conditions, such as competi-
tion amongst operators, racketeering
elements that preyed upon the le-
gitimate operators. Weare work-
ing together with the Jobbe rs As-
sociation and have obtained real co-
operation from them. The jobbers
no longer sell directly to any stol'e
keepers, neither do t hey s,ell single
keys to anyone unless the party is
known to them. In this way we
o~
hope to discourage high jacking
machines.
