Geo. Bennett is leaving for Chi-
cago January 10th. He is going to
show the Wayne volume control
equalizer at the coin machine S!)OW
in February. Have a good time,

Leon "Hi-Ho" Silver opened his
jobbing office October 1, 1946 at
760 Hayes Street, San Francisco.
He is the exclusive distributor for
Victor Vending Machine Products
and also the Advance Fairfax Cor-
poration Cash Tray Machines. Mr.
Silver will attend the Coin Machine
Show in Chicago and will make an
extended business trip in the East.
Bob Widener, Mr. Silver's assist-
ant, is quite a baseball player and
is now playing the outfield for the
Scannons, a San Frnncisco ball club.
Mr. and Mrs. Al Armos and
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Armos are plan-
ning on spending the week-end
over New Year's at Rio Delmar.
Mr. and Mrs. John A. Ruggiers
Bill Sams of the Radion Music
Company operated a radio store in
Hollywood for a while and sp~nt
six years in the Navy as 3: ~~ief
in the Radio and Radar Divis10n.
He was with the first squadron
that used Radar in the Navy an~
he was wounded in the South Paci-
fic. He is a holder of the Purple
Heart, the Flying Cross, Air Med~l
with three clusters, and the Presi-
dential Citation. After being dis-
charged from Service he was. as-
sociated with the Paramount Wired
Music Company. Bill has designed
a new type wired musi~ studio_ a1:d
station equipment_. This . st~d~o is
entirely new and it has mdiv1dual
stations each station being a com-
plete u~it in itself. This may be
operated with one or as many oper-
ators as the business requires. It
also has a new turntable with posi-
tive automatic cut-off, eliminating
record grinding and ha_s a new type
swivel head crystal pick-up, mak-
ing needle changing faster and ea~-
ier. Any part may be c~anged ~n
thirty seconds and this stud10
takes up a lot less space than any
other type panel. All operators are
invited to come in and inspect the
Radion Wired Music Studio at 2424
Polk Street, San Francisco.
Dan Stewart of the Stewart
Novelty Co., Salt Lake City, -ytah,
was in town recently and enJoyed
an evening at the Cococabana Club
with Mr. and Mrs. Dan King III.

John A. Ruggiers is manager of
Jack Moore & Co., San Francisco
office at 348 6th , St. He has been
with the Jack Moore Co. for the
past sixteen years. and is. doing a
swell job along with takmg care
of their many customers. They
are remodeling the building and
will have one of the most complete
shops on the West Coast. They
have thirty thousand square feet
of floor space on three flo?rs. They
are going to have a special school
room done in special paint and are
sparing no expense to be of serv-
ice to the operators.
The Viking Specialty Company,
530 Golden Gate Avenue, San Fran-
cisco, reports a lot of activity. They
are the exclusive distributors for
the :Northwestern Corporation of
Morris, Illinois and Shipman Post-
age Venders, and also Watling
scales. They have just completed
a deal with the Almond Growers
Exchange of California for an un-
limited supply of almonds at 75c
a pound. . . . Frank Dutton, for-
mer owner of the Viking Spec;alty
Company, passed away on Decem-
ber 1st. Mrs. Prince Dutton sold
her interest to William A. Collier
and Don H. McC1inton. Mr. Collier
was formerly Vice-President of Leo,
J. Myberg Company, San Francisco.

right Christmas spirit. We hear
that he had a fellow play_ing Santa
Claus flying around in an airplane
over a school in or around Port-
land. We understand the kids loved
it and Jack sure spread a lot of
good cheer!

Herman Pollack, son-in-law of
Mr. Pollard and in charge of sales
at t h e M. A. Pollard Company, 725
Larkin Street, San Francisco, ex-
clusive distributors for Evans Line
and Compos, Inc., two lines of
which they are very proud, says
that sales have been very good and
that they are looking forward to a
large increase in busine·s s t his sea-
son. The Pollard • Company has
available a service whereby they
can serve all operators with any
type of coils and transformers or
electrical equipment made to their
specifications.

Miss Gloria Speers is connected
with t he Record Store of t he Nobro

happy t o help the operators in se-
lecting their records. She has many
records the operators can obtain
for requests of special locations.
The Noto Brothers would like to
have their old friends stop in and
see them as they have big plans
for distribution in the future.
Bob Williams, San Francisco op-
erator, has fifteen new Rockola
phonographs equipped with the
Wayne equalizer and has them all
converted to 10c, 3 for 25c play.
He reports he has increased his
take over the 5c play considerably
and is very well pleased with the
way the Wayne equalizer works.
Los Angeles News item picked
up in San Francisco : Mr. and Mrs.
Kenneth A. Mumm announced the
arrival of Karen Ann Mumm. Ken-
neth is the owner of the Radio-
Matic in Los Angeles.
Willard Wayne, who is now in
charge of manufacturing the
Wayne volume control equalizer,
was originally regional superin-
tendent for the Signal Corps Radio
and Radar Training school. He has
been connected with radio 'for the
past twenty-four years. Mr. Wayne
built the first universal amplifier
to be used in coin machines. He
also des;gns and builds all types of
amplifier and remote control equip-
ment for sound distribution. He
had charge of the radio and sound
detection for the General Engi-
neering and Dry Dock Co.
