NFL BLITZ IS FIRST NINTENDO 64 GAME
TO BE FULLY CONTROLLER p AK COMPATIBLE
WITH COIN-OPERATED GAME
Midway Home Entertain-
ment announced that NFL
Blitz for the Nintendo 64 is
able to interact with the Blitz
'99 arcade game from its par-
ent company, Midway
Games Inc.
NFL Blitz for Nintendo 64
marks the first time a
Nintendo 64 game is capable
of sharing information with a
coin-operated game.
Blitz '99, hitting arcades
across the country just as the
NFL regular season gears up,
contains a plug-in for the N64
Controller Pak.
Players can use NFL Blitz's
revolutionary "create a play"
option to diagram their own
custom plays at home and
then plug it direclty into the
Blitz '99 coin-op at a partici-
pating arcade for even more
out of control football action.
With this unprecedented fea-
ture, players can import up to
nine original plays onto the
Blitz '99 coin-op version.
"We are working on differ-
ent areas that will expand our
arcade business and give kids
a reason to go back," said
Byron Cook, president, Mid-
way Home Entertainment.
"We look forward to apply-
ing this technology to other
Midway games and other
platforms."
Howard Lincoln, chairman of
Nintendo of America added:
"Midway has proven to be an
innovator in the games indus-
try, as evidenced by its
strength in both the arcade
and home markets.
This cross-platform technol-
ogy is the newest example of
how Midway is dedicated to
providing the best gaming ex-
periences for its audience."
