NA0M1: THE F1RST Two GAMES
NEW ARCADE TECHNOLOGY
House of the Dead 2 was recently announced as the first game to use the Naomi architecture.
The new Naomi arcade technology (which is
like a Dreamcast with more RAM) was
prominently featured at the recentJAMMA
exposition, including
demos of the first two
games for the super-archi-
tecture. Next Generation
Online's sister network,
I G N, has some interesting
news to report on Naomi and the two titles,
Blood Bullet and House of the Dead 2.
The good news is that players can expect both
of them to arrive on Dreamcast in mid-1999.
Conversion times between Naomi and
Dreamcast are negligible -
most of the development
time for the home versions
will be spent on enhancing
the coin-op originals.
NA@>'Mr
House of the Dead 2, is the sequel to the
highly entertaining light gun game, and Blood
Bullet, a gory SpikeOut-style game which has
3D Final Fight-style beat 'em up action.
Incidentally, all AM personnel in Japan have
been ordered to drop Model 3 from future
projects and concentrate on Naomi develop-
ment. This has been met with some resistance
from a lot of old guard AM personnel, who
have only just started to push the limits of
Model 3. Apparently, despite Naomi being
far superior, Model 3 has a few good features
which Naomi doesn't match.
