MACHINES AFFECTED
PROBLEM
All CD-lO0F Phonograph's prior
to SIN 6729.
I have a Lord of the Gun game
made by IGS and it keeps knock-
ing out the Voice EPROM, What
I mean by knocking out is that it
would work once then there
would be no more sounds on the
EPROM. I can erase and reuse
the EPROM again ( and I did try
a new one). Any Suggestions.
PROBLEM
Noisy Color Tubes on the Lower
Door.
SOLUTION
Install new style End Cap
Field reports have indicated cases
of excessive noise and wear, com-
ing from the bottom End Cap
Plate Assembly rubbing against
the fluorescent Bulb in the rotat-
ing Color Tubes. Rowe has rede-
signed the Assembly to eliminate
this problem.
The End Cap Plate Assembly (2
per machine required) can be
ordered from your local distribu-
tor.

Your problem could be two
things , your programmer maybe
not set at the right manufacturer
and or the timing not set prop-
erly . This is important when pro-
gramming EPROMS or they
loose their data when they try to
drive the data bus .
Another could be you have your
field ground and common con-
nected together. Separate them!
And make sure they are not con-
nected any where else in the
game. (Check the coin door this
is a popular spot where grounds
get mixed up!)

SveERSoN1c PAGE ERRORS,
PROGRAMMING AND NEW AMP HEATSINK
Greetings Star Tech readers!
Sorry I missed you last month.
Even us technical types need a
vacation now and then. Actually
I was on the road meeting with
Rock-Ola Distributors and Op-
erators.
This month's first item will cover
an issue brought to my attention
while in Chicago. By the way, if
any of you would like a specific
item or topic covered, contact me
via Star Tech Journal or e-mail. ..

Meeting with many of you gave
me the opportunity to find out
first hand your concerns and the
kinds of difficulties you guys and
gals run into. In the coming
months I will address many of
these issues.
SYBERSONIC PAGE ERR.ORS
I was also asked to be more de-
tailed when giving programming
instructions. So now whenever
programming issues are dis-
cussed, I will include the "key-
strokes" as well as examples of
what will be seen in the key-
board/ display.
Our service center received sev-
eral calls for replacement
SyberSonic computers due to dis-
play pages not working. In most
cases no problem was found with
the computer. What actually
happened was the Page Options
were programmed while the
page unit was not installed.
Whenever the Page Options
(Quick Find 25, 26 or 27) are set,
the SyberSonic Computer
"looks" for the last page by run-
ning the pages back and forth.
Because the computer senses the
pages are not present (they're
unplugged!), it automatically sets
the Last Page to 0. If set to 0,
the pages will not move when the
Turn Pages buttons are pressed
because the computer believes
that it shouldn't move them.
To correct this, simply plug the
pages back in and set Last Page
(Quick Find 26) to 06 if in a
SyberSonic Legend or to 16 if in
a SyberSonic Rocket. It is not
necessary to set Last Page in a
Nostalgic SyberSonic Jukebox
with version 3.2 and above soft-
ware. (Also see 3.2 Software Up-
date on page 6 of Star Tech Jour-
nal, May 1997.)
