PROPOSES NEW STANDARD
New standards were proposed
and revisions offered at the re-
cent meeting of the Standardiza-
tion Committee during the
AMOA Expo in Dallas. The next
full committee meeting will be
during the ASI Show at the Sands
Expo Center, Las Vegas, Nevada.
PROPOSED
STANDARD
CONVERSION
Krrs
FOR
"The logic board for universal
conversion kits, intended for in-
stallation into video games, shall
be provided with the JAMMA
Standard Edge Connector,
Player 3 & 4 Input Connector
(when applicable) and the Video
Output Connector specified in
Appendix B. The input current
for the logic board shall not ex-
ceed the Power Connections
ampere specifications for the
JAMMA Standard Edge Con-
nector in Appendix B."
REVISION
TO
17
"Video games intended for instal-
lation of universal conversion kits
STANDARD
• State/Zip:_
· _ _ _ _ _ _
• 0 Servicing Monitors $49
O Monitors: Sym/Sol $69
shall be provided with the mat-
ing harness connectors for the
JAMMA Standard Edge Con-
nector and the AAMA Player 3
& 4 Input Connector (when ap-
plicable). See Appendix B for
details.
The committee decided to circu-
late both proposals around the
industry for comments and have
a vote at the next full meeting. If
and when it passes the Industry
Standardization Committee, it
will be submitted to UL (Under-
writers Laboratories) for adop-
tion into UL 22.
This would give the manufactur-
ers the option to have their cabi-
nets and conversion kits certified
to be interchangeable in the field
without voiding the product
safety certification of the end
product.
Any comments on these propos-
als should be directed to the
AMOA/ AAMA Standardization
Committee.
