sets or you can chose a few on your own. The Allen
or hex blades with a handle are much faster than
regular bent Allen wrenches if there is room for
the tool. Make sure to include an extender blade
for your 99 kit. Sears offers various screwdriver
kits for a basic collection.

Consider a small 1/4" drive socket set for nuts up
to 1/2". I like my S-K set, or try Sears. For tight
spaces, use the 1/4" socket on a ratchet as an alter-
native driver for a magnetip bit. A 3/8" drive
ratchet and sockets is handy for the big bolts on
pinballs and elsewhere.
Works on all
makes&
models!
Guaranteed
If you are assembling something big like a basket-
ball or football game, you will probably find the
larger ratchets more comfortable and less tiring to
use. I also carry an extra-deep 7 /8 " socket to fit
the nuts on locks. It is deep enough to fit over the
lock to tighten the nut. Whether dedicated nut
driver or plug in blade, you should have enough
drivers in the sizes 1/4" to 3/8" to use two of the
same size at once. It comes up often enough.

Allen wrenches - Some call them Allen keys. The

kind with a handle won't work everywhere, so you
need the plain old L shaped tool. You will want
fairly complete sets in both inch sizes and metric
sizes. You can't fudge on size with these. The longer
ones will give you better leverage and be more
comfortable to use. Add to your collection of
tamper type tools whenever you can.

like tightening the jam nut on a pinball leveling

4 Design Improvements to
the Industry Standard
The "Quick Release"
Ticket Dispenser
I keep both SAE and metric "ignition wrench" sets
in my kit. They are collections of small size flat
wrenches. These little wrenches are endlessly use-
ful. I like the little 3/8" one for the nut on Williams
flipper cranks when I change a broken link. Sears
sells nice little sets.
Improves serviceability
& reduces
maintenance
Crescent wrenches ( adjustable flat wrenches) are also
handy. Years ago around our shop we used to call
the crescent wrench our "metric set." Consider a
3" one as a clumsy alternative to the ignition
wrenches. I also carry a 6" to 8" crescent. I use a
12" crescent to turn the hole cutter screw when
doing panels for conversions. It stays in the other
tool kit though. It's a big ole heavy thing.
Pliers - in addition to needle nose, diagonal cutters
("dikes"), combination or slip -joint, you might
consider duck billed pliers (flat and non-serrated),
vise-grips, small flush cutters (to fit between and
cut legs on ICs), and a good crimp tool.
"Quick Release" face plate
Dynamic, new design allows the
ticket dispenser to '" quickly release '"
from it's face plate on your cabinet
or ticket door, no tools needed.
Easily replace one dispenser with
another in just seconds. No tools
necessary! The new face plate
Be good to your tools. If you spend the money
for a nice pair of flush cutters, promise yourself
you will only use them on component leads and
soft copper wires.
