purpose of installation, since the kit
did not come with instructions. Please
note: This conversion shoul,d only he

install the new cable in the same
way). Now remove the coin mech
from it's holster. Install new coin
mech putting the ribbon cable
back through the hole in the side
of the coin mech bracket, to the
bill verifiers P27 plug . Before
plugging in the header plug, you
will note that the header plug
from the new coin acceptor has
no keys, therefore, preventative
maintenance must be taken so
that this plug does not ever get
plugged-in wrong. Remove the
keys from the old header plug
and install them into the new
header (see figure 1 for key place-
ment). To remove the keys use a

small razor knife. After this pro-
cedure, plug the new header into
P27. Now reinstall the old coin
funnel above the new coin mech.
STEP
Two: Remove the side
panel of the bill verifier that is
mounted on the door. The side
that will be removed is the one
that is closer to the edge of the
door. There are four Phillips head
screws that hold this panel down.
Behind this panel is the main
CCU board that controls the ac-
ceptor and has the calibration
pots mounted on it. Now that this
panel is removed, the main
PROM is the next item to be re-
placed. You will find the PROM
in the kit that is marked CSS-001.
See figure 2 for PROM location.
STEP THREE: Turn on the C-500
unit and clear all errors. Type
"500" on the key pad. (See fig-
ure 3 for key pad view) "TY-XX"
should appear in the display. If
two quarter hoppers are present,
program the unit in this manner.
Be sure that "dispensing hop-
pers" and hopper "values" C &
D are at zero.

position. Starting with pot 1, ei-
ther left hand (orange) light, or
the right hand (green) light will
come on. If the left hand light is
on, tum pot 1 clockwise slowly
until the light goes off. Wait a few
seconds and both lights will come
on, indicating that you have
proper adjustment of the pot.
Conversely, if the right hand light
comes on, tum the adjustment
pot counter-clockwise until the
light goes off. After you have
made your adjustments and both
lights have come on, wait until
they again go off, indicating that
you may proceed to the next ad-
justment pot. Proceed to the pot
2 and follow the same proce-
dures. Your unit will automati-
cally advance through all 5 posi-
tions. After the last adjustment is
made, a few seconds will pass and
the card will be rejected. Your
unit is now properly calibrated
and will accept all of the currency
your unit has been programmed
for. Now tum off the power and
replace the side cover. End of
procedure.

Turn power on and
see if any errors appear in the dis-
play, (If errors occur see your
manual). If not, our first proce-
dure will be to calibrate the bill
verifier. Shut the power off and
before turning the power back on
again, adjust pot 2 (using a small
flat head screw driver) com-
pletely counter-clockwise then 1/
4 turn clockwise (see figure 2 for
pot location). Power up the C-500

tion period, your conversion
should be complete and operat-

now you have Loonie and Toonie
capabilities. Good Luck!
With power on, insert
calibration card with the arrow
up. The card will be accepted by
the unit and stop in the proper
