GOTTLIEB STRIKES N' SPARES
GAME PROM UPDATE
Service Dept.
Premier Technology
Bensenville, Illinois
SUBJECT
There is a new game Prom
(Nlll/3 GPROM) available for
Strikes N' Spares. This update is
not necessary unless a game is
constantly restaging the balls dur-
ing the attract mode (game over)
every few minutes.

SOLUTION
If a particular game does not ex-
hibit this behavior, then there is
no reason to install the N 111/3
GPROM because the game will
work properly. However, if this
situation does occur in a game,
follow the procedure below to
remedy it:
PROBLEM
There is a restaging feature in the
Nlll/2 GPROM which is de-
signed to kick all of the balls into
the rear and then divide them
evenly between the left and right
sides after every 200 plays. When
the Nlll/2 GPROM is installed
the first time, the Ram memory
location which controls the re-
staging feature may not be initial-
ized to the correct value. If this
occurs, then the restaging feature
will begin after every few min-
utes in the attract mode.
STAR*TEcH
PROCEDURE
1. Install Nlll/3 GPROM in
the control board.
2. Tum power on.
3. Enter the test mode by
pressing the test button once.
4. Select bookkeeping from
the menu in the display.
5. Clear bookkeeping by
pressing the left flipper but-
ton and then the credit (start)
button to confirm.
