BREAKDOWN
The . push to get a dollar coin in
the US is running into organized
opposition, according to the

SUBJECT
PROBLEM
We recently purchased five Locked
N' Loaded kits from Konami. We
converted Lethal Enforcers and
used the existing guns.
PROBLEM
Williams Superpin (wide body)
lockdown moldings ("Front Mold-
ing Assy"). I'm sure everyone
knows by now that the lockdown
moldings in Williams/Bally
Superpins will break easily.
The earnings were surprisingly
low on the route.
SOLUTION
MMA.
A group called "Save the Green-
back" has been formed, com-
prised of members of the Printer's
Union, paper and ink manufactur-
ers.
Its spokesmari, former US Mint
Director David Ryder, has argued
that a $1 coin would be inflation-
ary.
SOLUTION
I installed, in two of the five, the
new Happ Controls guns. They
are both accurate and more de-
pendable than any other guns I
have tried on the market. The
earnings after installing the guns
took a dramatic rise.

We here at New Orleans Novelty
Company, Inc. pride ourselves on
being the best at what we do in
this industry. Apparently Happ
Controls has developed and main-
tained this same philosophy. Their
products like their joysticks and
buttons are a "cut above" the rest.

Buy one replacement lockdown
molding and take the broken
molding to a welding shop for re-
p air. A strong weld will burn
through to the shiny surface, but
it'll last forever.
The replacements (re-welded
ones) can be rotated through as
you find the broken ones and
eventually they will all be changed
to sturdy, unbreakable welded
lockdown moldings.
CAUTION
Remember to remove the foam
tape under the molding or the
heat will burn it. "Frost King"
closed celi, gray foam tape works
great as a replacement.

Basically, the problem is that
stainless steel when spot welded
to mild steel generally produces
a relatively weak connection.

IMONEX COIN ACCEPTORS:
POINT/ COUNTERPOINT
POINT
Dear Star Techjournal:
About a year ago we purchased over one hundred
Imonex 950 coin acceptors. They were placed at
various locations with which we do business.
Coin jams can be a great problem in the coin op-
erated industry. Imonex seems to have almost com-
pletely eliminated this problem. The reason these
coin acceptors have virtually no coin jams is that
they will accept virtually anything!
A piece of paper cut to the approximate size of a
quarter with a penny glued or taped to it will be
processed every time, along with cardboard, or
tagboard. Anything thw approximate size of a quar-
ter that has a little weight to it and is not magnetic
will be processed.
Upon contacting Imonex of our troubles, we were
told that they had never heard of this problem six
months ago. When we called about two weeks ago
they still had not heard of this problem. They of-
fered no suggestions or solutions to our dilemma.
